Snow Way!

After the major drama of choosing a job, then turning about face and accepting a new job in a completely different state, there was yet another little nugget of humor to be had. Snow.

We arrived to our new place on Thursday, and woke up on Saturday to snow. All over. It is like a colossal joke on us; after surviving the worst of Arizona summer we get dumped straight into Utah winter. UGH! Are you kidding me? I am feeling SO picked on right now...

We teased Abigail after she came running in: "Mom! Dad! There's snow out there!"

"Oh, I don't see anything..."

"No it is! Right out there! And it is SO COLD!"

"Maybe it's just on your side of the yard,"

"NO LOOK! IT's RIGHT THERE! LOOK! ALL OVER!!!"

Indeed it is. We must photograph this occasion as our children have not seen snow since they last visited the grandparents up in Reno. They say that you look back on these things and laugh, but they fail to mention that you are doing it in a white jacket in a very soft room.

Can I tell you how jealous I am of you as I struggle to get into the Halloween decorating spirit as I sweat trying to attach fake spider web crud to my stucco?

I miss you!!!!! I am trying to convince Steve we need to come to Utah in November - Veteran's Day weekend maybe. I dunno...We don't have many reasons to go up there, only extended (very extended) family but I miss it in a twisted sort of way. Now, we have a few more reasons to go!

This is not being picked on....it's Utah welcoming you! Saying "Lookie here! You don't have to suffer through unbearable heat all year long...we're better...we get four seasons and here's the one you have missed for so long!" It snowed, just for you, on your very first morning waking up in your new house. :)I thought it was kind of cool. And YOU may think it's miserable and cold to play in, but don't you remember as a kid....you could play in the snow all day long and not care! You just come in for a change of dry clothes every few hours and a cup of hot chocolate. We're so happy to have you here!

Meredith said you moved to Utah! Now who am I going to do Meals on Wheels with??? And who will I wave to in the CTA line???? But I'm glad Matthew found a job. Guess I'll say "goodbye" via blog. I'm not jealous of your snow. Though I am a little sick of 99 degrees (that's the forecast for today). Hopefully we'll be up to Utah next year sometime and can come visit you.
